Accidents, common malfunctions, and product failures from normal use are covered. Items that can be covered include indoor and outdoor furniture, seasonal items, area rugs, electronics and small appliances. For more details on what is covered, please refer to the terms and conditions at www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/terms
Intentional damage, misuse, extreme weather events, loss, and theft are not covered. Protection is not available for items under $10. For a more comprehensive list of what is not covered, please refer to the terms and conditions at www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/terms
Protection starts the day you buy the protection plan and lasts the entire term of the purchased plan. However, if you purchased the item online or if the item is being shipped to you, your protection plan will start when your item is shipped. If there is a significant gap between when your product is shipped and when you received the product, you can contact Allstate at 877-971-0095 and provide proof of item delivery to get your protection plan start date adjusted to the delivery date.
We generally recommend that you add the protection plan at the time of purchase, as Big Lots does not sell standalone Allstate coverage. However, you can return the item and repurchase it with an Allstate Protection Plan added, up to 30 days after the item’s date of purchase.
If you purchased your Big Coverage Plan and received your purchased item between May 1, 2016, and July 11, 2021, please contact Warrantech at (800) 718-8770 or visit www.myprotectionplan360.com/biglots
No, you do not need to register your protection plan for it to be active. However, we recommend providing contact information at www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/biglots to make filing a claim easier in the future. Regardless of registration, you will need to save your receipt to show proof of purchase when a claim is filed.
You can file a claim at www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/biglots anytime, 24/7. Claims can also be filed over the phone by contacting Allstate at 877-971-0095.
The fastest way to file a claim is online at www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/biglots You will be required to (1) create an online account or log into your existing account if you’ve already registered your plan (2) upload a photo of your receipt showing the item and protection plan and (3) provide information about the incident. Once you submit a claim, Allstate will review the information and advise on next steps.
There are no deductibles! You pay one time for your protection plan at the time of purchase. Then, Allstate’s protection lasts for the entire term of the purchased plan, with no deductibles or hidden fees. Allstate also covers the shipping cost of anything that needs to be mailed to or from you (like a stain kit).
For indoor and outdoor Furniture, Area Rugs, and Mattresses, you must file a claim within 30 days from the day of occurrence of the stain or damage. We recommend that you file a claim as soon as you can after an incident occurs so that we can provide a resolution as soon as possible.
Yes, you can transfer your plan to another person by visiting www.AllstateProtectionPlans.com/biglots or contacting Allstate at 877-971-0095.
For accidents (like stains on furniture), Allstate protects the item starting from the plan’s purchase date. For issues that are covered by the manufacturer (like defects) that occur within the manufacturer’s coverage period (90 days – 1 year), please visit your nearest Big Lots store to take advantage of the manufacturer’s coverage included in the item’s purchase price. Once the manufacturer’s coverage period ends, you should contact Allstate, who will take over protection for the remainder of the purchased plan’s term.
Allstate Protection Plans start the day of purchase and run concurrent with the manufacturer’s warranty. Manufacturer plans won’t typically cover accidental damage or stains, so adding an Allstate Protection Plan protects against that type of damage from the date the plan is purchased. If you report an issue to Allstate that the manufacturer covers and it is within the manufacturer’s coverage period, you will be referred to your local Big Lots store to take advantage of the manufacturer’s coverage included in the item’s purchase price.
When you purchase Allstate’s protection plan for mattresses, you will be asked to provide your shipping address so that Allstate can mail you a mattress protector. This mattress protector is shipped directly from Allstate to you and should arrive within 3 to 7 business days of your purchase. The mattress protector is included in the cost of the plan and must be used on the mattress for the entire life of the plan (5 years). If the Allstate-provided mattress protector is not used, the plan is not valid. Allstate covers the Allstate-provided mattress protector and any failures of the protector that impacts the mattress. Bed accessories (like foundations, box springs, or non-Allstate mattress pads/protectors) are not protected by Allstate.
Allstate covers unintentional pet stains from a single incident. Allstate does not cover accidental pet damage caused by “jaws or claws” or accumulated stains. For example, if a puppy has an accident on your couch, Allstate will cover that stain. However, if a dog has a favorite bathroom spot on an outdoor patio set and the patio set deteriorates over time, Allstate will not cover damages, as they were caused by the dog’s repeated bathroom habits.
Yes, you can get a refund for your protection plan at any time. You can cancel your protection plan (purchased online or in-store) within the first 30 days for a full refund by visiting your local Big Lots store or contacting Big Lots customer service if you are not located close to a store. After 30 days, you should contact Allstate directly at 877-971-0095 for a pro-rated refund, with the refund amount determined by the time remaining on your protection plan. Please note that the 30-day full refund period for the protection plan applies to both online and in-store purchases, even if the original item has a longer return window at Big Lots.
Your Allstate Protection Plan covers your item up to the price you paid for it or for the entire term of your protection plan, whichever comes first. Every time you file a claim, Allstate pulls funds from the value of the item; if you have made multiple claims and the total cost of service equals or exceeds the item’s purchase price or if you have received a full reimbursement for your item, you have reached the item’s limit of liability and our plan will conclude, even if it is before the plan reaches its full term. Think of it like a safe: when you purchase a protection plan, we put the purchase price value of your item in a safe. Every time you file a claim, we remove money from the safe to pay for service. We will keep doing this until the safe is empty. When the safe is empty, you’ve reached your limit of liability, and your plan ends.
