Bought this 2 yrs ago-did not like the fact the outside was Sooo hot (solved that problem by sitting it on my glass top stove) as I was concerned for the countertop-the off/low/high/warm dial was not very exact(couldn't really tell if I was using low or high)-those 2 issues aside I love using a CrockPot. Boom,I took it this cool morning to start some corned beef & cabbage and NO HEAT!! Back to the 'old' oven-This 'pot' came with the Little Dipper (great for little ones to dip strawberries into chocolate---very disappointed in the overall quality of this model

When my husband bought this for me i was soooo excited! and i loved that it came with a free little dipper!! I have read in the other reviews that they have the same problem i have with this unit, It does not really have a "low" setting, Plus i saw it's setting seem to be backwards it goes "low, high, warm" but anyway i guess i will have to get use to this unit cooking A LOT hotter that the older models

I bought this about six months ago. I have had several slow cookers over the years but I have to keep an eye on this one. It tends to cook hotter and faster and has burned two meals on me now. Groceries are too expensive to just throw away. So I can not really prepare and leave on low while I am at work which is very disappointing. I have never had this issue before with a slow cooker before.

Thank you for your feedback as it is greatly appreciated. With newer model slow cookers, for food safety reasons, both the low and high settings will reach a maximum temperature of approximately 215 degrees Fahrenheit, but they cycle differently in that the low setting cycles off of that temperature more frequently. Therefore, the High setting will still cook the food in a shorter period of time than the Low setting will. On the warm setting, your slow cooker will be between 165 degrees and 175 degrees Fahrenheit. Please remember that these are all approximate temperatures and they can vary depending on what you are cooking. The slow cooker can also boil on High and Low. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker at least 2/3 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. You may have to adjust your cook times accordingly, especially if you are using older slow-cooker recipes, or adapting regular recipes for slow cooker use. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning.
