Easy to assemble and flowers look great.
Horrible over time
I first did an initial review on this product..At first it worked great, I had 2 of them. Then I decided to order 2 more a month later. The first one I had put together with the first purchase the wood had started to split. I added clear weather coat to the wood for protection. The metal rusts a month later it started showing signs of rust around the corners and the bolt areas. Now just rust every where. The second order came in I can't even put it together those 2 because the wood for the box is all apart. Nothing to hold the edges together, no glue etc like the first 2. Sadly i can't return because it was to long before I even was able to start to put them together. Not to mention the fact when they had arrived in the mail boxes themselves looked like they were put back in the warehouse forgotten about. After all of this I have decided to do this review again. Point out the actual issues I've had with it over a long period of time.
nice to look at - suspect it won't hold up to weather & soil

plan to plant with small vegetables & herbs - may drill additional drainage holes - it rains a lot inn SE LA
Cute
I like it just a couple of things about it I need to mention. First the metal does rust. If your looking to use it then I recommend getting some rustic paint and spray on it. Secondly the hole on the bottom is a bit to big for water drainage. The dirt falls through which kinda defeats the purpose of a planter. I got some chicken wire and stapled it to it on the inside so not as much dirt falls out.Wooden planter box itself is made good but I suggest putting some wood treatment on it before usage. Other then that I love it. I will be purchasing another one especially since I already the issues or what'll need to be done before usage. I am using these as my garden planters.

What a cool planter. Tall, large and good looking. I do wish there were more drain holes but I can use a drill.
Happy with my table-height planters
Verified Buyer
I ordered two of these planters and wish I had ordered a couple more during a really good sale. I bought them to frame the corner of my pool deck and think they will look nice there. The planter is basically a wooden box in a frame, with a sizeable drainage hole in the middle of the planter box. Pros: The planter is table-height, which I expect to be a back-saver. I expect that raising the planter contents will add visual interest, compared with plants in pots on the sidewalk or deck. Cons: You do have to assemble the planter. The one we have assembled so far is a little bit wobbly on a flat surface. I haven't yet tried to adjust it and may not bother until I see whether it still wobbles when the planter is loaded. The main con for me is that there is no liner to the box, so I worry about deterioration of the wooden box as it comes into context with water or wet dirt. The box looks like it might be pine and has a finish that I assume is waterproof. We decided to give it another coat to help it last longer and are currently letting it "cure" so it will be food-safe. We will probably also try to use some sort of liner inside the box. The drainage hole is probably 3 inches in diameter, so if we fill the planter with dirt (as opposed to putting pots in it), it will need to have something like a piece of screen so that the dirt does not leak out the bottom.
Could not be nicer

I bought this to plant herbs in for outside. Ended up putting in fake greenery and battery operated candles and put in my foyer. Looks beautiful. Now I need another one for outside!
