This was purchased for my Boy Scout Troop while at scout camp.while in the forests of Pennsylvania. It was a hit crawling along the edge of the salad bar in the camp dining hall. Female adult leaders loved it but did not want to find in near their tent nor in their sleeping bag. It was also used during Merit Badge as an example of one way radio signals vs two way radio signals.

The Tarantula became a hit as it crawled along the edge of the salad bar in the camp dining hall. Since it is infra red radio controlled it applies to the Radio Merit Badge that teaches the difference between one way radio signals vs two way radio signals. Scouting America is co-ed and the adult female leaders warned the scouts that they did not want to find this toy near their tent nor in their sleeping bag at night!!!
